Combine that with the reload/weapon bonus that you get, and melee killing someone is going to feel like a fresh start. Reversal causes melee kills to immediately trigger health regeneration. Frontal Assault is the melee ability for this Code, causing your melee to reload your currently equipped weapon and increase weapon stability and damage. Because of the way many of the maps in Destiny are designed, you can cover a more meaningful amount of surface with the Lightning Grenade as compared to the Pulse Grenade, making it superior in most cases.Ĭode of the Juggernaut comes with the abilities Frontal Assault, Reversal, Trample, and Knockout. The Lightning Grenade attaches to whatever surface it comes in contact with, releases bolts of lightning opposite the surface it's attached to at regular intervals. In most cases, this is inferior to the Lightning Grenade. It detonates on impact with a surface, blanketing that area with a radius of pulsing Arc energy that damages enemies inside the radius on each pulse. The Pulse Grenade is a decent area-denial grenade it isn't the best of them, and it isn't the worst of them. There really isn't much argument to be made for using this grenade in Crucible unless you're having trouble winning gunfights. The Flashbang Grenade does a bit of damage, but also blinds enemies for a (very) short period of time. Let's take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of each of these in Crucible. If you keep chaining, you will be spamming the abilities a lot, allowing you to keep healing up while dealing massive AoE damage. The Striker subclass comes with the Flashbang Grenade, Pulse Grenade, and the Lightning Grenade. Upon using an ability, Heart of Inmost Light will empower the other two to get better recharge time and improve their effects. You can also use either Shield Throw or the grenade to clear groups of adds since Controlled Demolition will just make them go out in a blaze of Void glory. If you have trouble landing rockets, switch to your LFR. The reason I prefer Rocket Launchers and Linear Fusion Rifles in the Heavy Slot is the big burst potential, from a safe distance. This approach lets me remove a shield and then quickly burst any beefy enemy in the campaign, before they even get to react. My favourite shield buster for the campaign was Borealis because it gets bonus damage upon blowing up a shield of the same elemental type. The reason is that many enemies will take a lot of ammo before they go down so you need to minimise the time when you're not firing. If you're taking heavy fire or notice too many adds spawning in, just pop the Super and clear everything out while healing like there is no tomorrow.Īs for the weapons, you will pair your shield buster with a primary ammo weapon that either has extremely quick reload time or Subsistence. Sentinel Shield is generally used to get you out of a pickle. You can disable on or more of them with the grenade and even the odds before you kill them. This is especially helpful when you're facing multiple Lucent Brood. Speaking of which, use the Suppression grenade to stop anything except bosses in its tracks. Echo of Exchange and Heart of Inmost Light will also make this ability a battery for your grenade. Personally, I did the campaign without any of the two so it's not a deal-breaker if you don't have these abilities. The damage gets boosted even more if you have Volatile Flow. It will provided elemental wells for recharging your abilities and boosting your weapon damage if you have Font of Might. Shield Throw, in combination with Melee Wellmaker, Echo of Leeching, Echo of Exchange and Heart of Inmost Light will be on multiple duties. I picked High Lift because it's nimble enough to get me over high obstacles but it can also be used to boost me horizontally, when timed properly. It will save your life more times than you will care to count. Towering Barricade is your safe zone that provides Overshield on top of blocking projectiles. Volatile Flow (if you have it unlocked).Font of Might (if you have it unlocked).Rocket Launcher or Linear Fusion Rifle in the Heavy slot.Something for busting all elemental shields, such as:.Void subclass abilities, aspects and fragments While some improvements could be done through those means, they didn't hamper my progress in any significant way. This also meant I didn't have Artifact unlocks at the time, on top of missing Elemental Well mods. I completed it on my Titan without grouping up, from the moment I started playing the expansion. However, it can be a little overwhelming at first, leading to unoptimised builds and possibly the inability to complete the first Legendary campaign in Bungie introduced Void 3.0 in The Witch Queen, allowing a Light subclass to utilise the type of customisation only Stasis had before.
